Neurogenic Bladder Caused by Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury Treated with Moxibustion : A Case Report

Abstract

|
Objectives: We got a good effect on one patient who had neurogenic bladder caused by traumatic spinal cord injury by moxibustion.
Methods: In clean intermittent catheterization, direct moxibustion was applied to Qihai(CV6), Guanyuan(CV4) and Zhongji(CV3) points five times a day for 6days per week. We measured post-voiding residual urine everyday from April 24th, 2004. to May 23th, 2004.
Results: The post-voiding residual urine was decreased gradually for the term of investigation. Finally, balanced bladder was confirmed.
Conclusions: We supposed that the moxibustion can improve the function of bladder in traumatic spinal cord injury patient.
